Right now I have cream walls in most of my main floor of my house and its feeling and looking tired. I am planning on painting everything white, I think it will freshen everything up. White makes everything look clean and crisp and modern.

Just dropped off these pillows to a client on Friday, and they were ecstatic. Its amazing how something so small can make such a huge impact in a room. We are still waiting on a few more items, an Ottoman and some accessorizing are in order! Then I will share the finished room.

Watercolour Wallpaper

I just finished reading the March issue of House and Home and they had a great idea for large scale art piece using watercolour wallpaper. I would love to try this, I think it looks amazing. They used watercolour wallpaper from Black Crow Studios.

ABC Print

I have finally hung the print I ordered from Made by a Girl in my son's room. I mounted it with an Ikea Ribba Frame and hung it over a dresser I had painted in Benjamin Moore's Amazon Moss 2037-10.

The room is very slowly coming together, but that seems to be the case with everything at the moment!

Elizabeth Taylor Prints

I just ordered two prints for the charcoal office that I have been working on. They are going to look amazing and they are a great deal. I got them from Big Eye Gallery, which has lots of great limited editions prints.

They also off these amazing prints by artist Garry Wade's The Insect Series. Which I am debating ordering for my own place.

Bold Zig Zags

I have a dingy ugly basement bathroom that could use some updating, and I am looking for a quick and inexpensive fix for the time being. I would love to try a zig zag pattern like Tommy Smythe did in a Victorian home makeover he did that was published in House and Home.

I think I would use shades of blue and green, maybe something like the this fabric, but in a large scale zig zag pattern.

I just purchase two large scale black pendants for a kitchen that I am working on, and now I am wondering are they too over the top. They haven't been hung yet, so I will share a picture later, and I shouldn't really judge myself until they are up. So I thought I would get a little large scale lighting inspiration to reassure myself.

A Touch Of Green

Now that winter has finally arrived in my area, I would love to add a bit of greenery to my life. The only problem is I defiantly don't have a green thumb, but I think I can handle these.....

Mirrored Closet Doors

I am working on a master bedroom with dated mirrored closet doors, that are in need of an update. The client wants to keep the doors, since she loves the large scale mirrors. I am planning on applying moulding painted out in her trim colour with silicone. Now I just need to decide do I keep it simple and add square moulding or add some detail with curves.

Kelly Green Striped Drapes

I had posted about making striped drapes awhile ago for my son's room here. I had planned on having more smaller scale stripes then I ended up with, but it was too time consuming so I scaled back a bit. I also lined the drapes with black out lining which to be honest I would never use again. It was so heavy and hard to work with but it does give the drapes a nice weight and fullness.

When the room is complete I will share more pictures.

So I had a couple of packages of The Luna Wall Flats on order for a kitchen back splash, but unfortunately they are unable to ship the product to Canada. I am going to try another company but I have also ordered some wallpaper samples in case it doesn't work out.

White Ruffled Curtains

I added some white curtains to the black office I have been diligently working on. I tried to make a ruffle trim to line the inside panels but it is extremely hard to do, so I made a box pleat trim, which I think looks just as good.

It is really starting to come together, but there are still a few more things to finish up!

Kid's Room Inspiration

Well I am thinking of updating my daughters room and while I was searching for some inspiration I came across this kids bedroom Grant Gibson did for the Elle Decor 2010 show home. I love that he used items you wouldn't necessarily think of for a girls bedroom but the overall feel of the room is youthful. The only problem is my four year old says everything must be pink!

Modern Nightlights

I came across Jack+JadeHome Website and I love the selections of children's nightlights they carry. They are defiantly a step above the teddy bear one in my daughter's room at the moment. The Amazing thing about these lights are they stay lit when lifted from the charging base.

I am going to order a Candela Tooli in the pink and red for my daughter and I think maybe the Candela Roomi for my son......maybe they will actually sleep through the night!

Yellow & Grey Shower Curtain

I just added this custom shower curtain to a bathroom, we mounted the rod right at the ceiling to draw your eye up. There still needs accessories, new light, and hardware added. It is just a quick and easy update to a main bathroom.

DIY Gold Chair

I came across this fabulous Eames Side Chair Golden from okay art. I thought it would be amazing in the office I am working on, but it just didn't work into the budget.

I had this chair which is a knock off Eames design.

I used gold spray paint

and for the legs I used left over coral paint that I painted chairs with.

The picture doesn't do it justice, it really looks amazing for a little effort and a small price tag! It defiantly adds some sparkle to the room.

Fabric Covered Bulletin Board

I made a fabric covered cork board for the charcoal office that I posted about here . I used a Ikea Ribba Frame that I had in a natural finish and painted it black.

Then I added this fabric from Spoonflower that I attached to sheet of cork I purchased from the hardware store.

A little black ribbon and some gold tacks and this is what you get.

My client loves it, and is hesitant to tack anything to it. Success!

Red, Purple and Maybe Blue?

It is time to start planning my Christmas decor. I had a red and purple scheme from last year, and I want to pop in a new colour to freshen it up. So I am searching for some inspiration, and maybe thinking blue.

Or maybe keep it a little more tame and add grey.

I will have to do a little hoilday decor shopping to see whats out there.

Sarah's House: Hit or Miss

I normally love most of what Sarah and Tommy come up with, but this season has left me really questioning some of there choices. Now I would have to say that most of the house is amazing and done in what you would expect of Sarah and Tommy to come up with.

The living room, front entrance, kitchen, family room, girls and boys bedroom and craft room all read beautifully and would flow easily from one room to the next. Now here is where the questioning comes in, the dining room, master bedroom and the rec room. None of these rooms appeal to me, and I didn't feel like they flowed with the design of the rest of the house.

The dining room had so many shades of blue it was overwhelming.

The rec room came off looking very cottage country, which didn't relate to the traditional design of the rest of the home.

The master bedroom looks very soft in the above picture but on television the teal and peach were strong and it felt like it was designed for a high end retirement home.

Does any one else feel the same way? Thoughts?

To tile or not to tile

I am currently working on a kitchen and I need a budget friendly update for the back splash. So I was contemplating wallpaper, which can add allot of interest and drama.

There is also paintable wallpaper called anaglypta , that could be used as a back splash. I think it looks amazing painted black.

Now one product that I am seriously considering is the Luna Wall Flats

But through my searching I came across this product which is actually ceiling tiles, but I think this gives the same look as the Luna Wall Flats. Its extremely inexpensive and seems very easy to install.

Gossip Girl's Butterfly Wall

I watch Gossip girl every week, and no I'm not seventeen but I can say that I do have a thing for Chuck Bass. The amazing interiors don't hurt either. I have always loved the butterflies above Serena's bed and I decided to look and see what I could find. Turns out the artist has a site showing exactly how he came up with the design and tons of other inspirational photos.

I ordered a couple of rugs for different rooms from Wayfair, and I am waiting for them to arrive.

and also some amazingly inexpensive modern accessories from Indigo, which I have received and I am impressed with the quality.

Now I just have to finish off at least one of these many projects I have going on!

Coral Chairs

I am working away on the charcoal office that I had posted about Earlier, and I found these two chairs that were in need of a little updating. I painted them Coral and added a coral and grey Herringbone fabric, that I got from Here. I am love love loving how they look in the room, and will show more pictures of the office when its complete. They are really bold in a neutral room, but in the charcoal office they are just the pop of colour it needs to brighten up the space, and give it life. I have a coral and black bulletin board that I have created for the room that I will show you later on in the week.

Not Your Granny's Plate Rack

I have been trying to think of a way to display some tea cup saucers that were my mothers, for a while now. They are all miss matched and most of the cups are missing, but they remind me of my childhood, so I didn't want to throw them out. This is what I came up with:

I found this mirror at an outdoor antique market

I painted it matte black

Glue on the saucers and you have an interesting piece of art that is sentimental, and it really just makes me smile!

If you haven't heard of it, its a fabric site where you can either design your own fabric or order from one of the many fabric designer who have created fabric for there site. Pondering Table Lamps

I have been debating purchasing this Robert Abbey Delta Lamp

But I'm not completely sold on it so here are a few more in the running:

This one I thought was cool but I think the scale wont work, you can check it out Here

It can be made with different colour shade and base, and I love that it is handmade.

I really liked these, but I only need the one they are also from Here

They are retro lamps refurbished.

These Two are from West Elm.

Cost wise they are about the same, so it really comes down to look and I am still leaning towards the Robert Abbey. What to Choose?

Striped Drapery Panels

Unfortunately I mismeasured for drapes for my son's room, and I cant seem to get any more of the dark grey fabric I selected....so I am now adding Kelly Green Stripes to give me my two and half fullness that I want.

Now I just have to decide how to do them. I am leaning towards varying thickness of Kelly Green stripes at the bottom section of the panel. Hopefully I will turn an error into a nice design detail! I had originally planed on adding a strip of Kelly Green fabric or ribbon to the inside length of the panels, but I think this will work nicely as well.
